Welcome to The Gravel Collective.

Our vision is to build a gravel community centering historically excluded groups that may identify as: FTWNB, BIPOC, and para-athletes. We do this by providing workshops, social events, and group rides that cultivate a safe, uplifting environment.

Our mission is to reduce barriers and make gravel cycling more accessible for all.

Proudly supporting communities in Arizona, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. We cultivate a welcoming, inclusive space for all gravel cyclists through workshops, socials, bikepacking, & group rides. You can ride with us! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

SO YOU’RE NEW TO GRAVEL?

Providing a safe space for beginners to get started is our favorite!

  • Intro to Gravel

Gravel cycling requires more energy than the same distance on road. Your tire pressure will be lower to absorb the bumpy terrain. Lycra is optional, but a chamois is recommended.

  • Food & Hydration

Gravel is an eating contest of sorts. You must stay fueled to be effective on the bike. Think about how much food and water you bring on a road ride and add much more - maybe skip the wine.

  • Mullet Protocol

Business in the front; party in the back. We have a space for fast cyclists and people who like to take their time, meet the wildlife, and take silly photos. Something for everyone.

The Gravel Collective is a young nonprofit. Our mission started in Houston, TX, in July 2021 with the model you see today. Led by historically excluded groups, we hold an organized monthly ride, quarterly workshops, bikepacking trips, and social events.

In July of 2022, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit. In that short amount of time, we've added six chapters in TX, AZ, NY, PA, and FL. We've done this by finding compassionate leaders who were already involved with their local bike communities. Most of our leadership are women and people of color, while several of us are also queer.

As a young nonprofit, we have everything ahead of us. This survey lets us know where to focus our efforts and what you want to see from us in the new year.

We’d love to hear your feedback. Even if you haven’t ridden with us, yet, we value your ideas, too! Click the image to take the survey - 5 min or less!

Survey is now closed. Thank you so much!
