Meet the Austin Gravel Collective!

  • Kat smiling in her cycling gear, standing in front of several signs that say things like, 'check in', 'have fun," and "emergency H2O on trails."

    Kat Steele (she/her), Founder

After living 20 years in Northern Virginia, she moved to Austin, Texas at the insistence of her sister who was already living there. Kat loves to ride road, gravel, and singletrack all around Central Texas.

  • Laura, smiling in full cycling gear, standing in front of her bike with mountains in the background.

    Laura Thain (she/her), Founder

When not defending her local legend titles on the backroads of Central Texas, you can usually find her wrenching and riding motorcycles, cracking jokes in the back row at Austin Film Society, or hiking with her collie Tilly.

    Let’s ride!

  • A group of happy cyclists smiling and posing together.

    Celebrate.

Austin showed up and came to party today. We had pre-ride fuel, post ride snacks, a dip in the river, and a blast throughout! 💥 Thanks for the awesome collab and support from @queergravel and thanks to all the riders who came out and shared their joy out on the gravel. Stay tuned for the real group pic. I think the turnout was around 60 strong. That’s a lot of happy people on bikes! 🚲
